The Wolf Among Us 2 has been quiet, almost too quiet. We last heard in 2023 that the game was still happening. Since then, nothing. Not even the people who wrote the story know when it will be ready.
Eurogamer recently talked to AdHoc Studios. This team wrote the script for The Wolf Among Us 2. Its founders used to work at the original Telltale Games. Now, AdHoc is busy with their own interactive game called Dispatch, which features funny heroes.

Nick Herman, a co-founder of AdHoc, and the director for the first Wolf Among Us episode, shared some details. He mentioned AdHoc worked on the sequel for about two years. Before he could say too much, co-founder Pierre Shorette gently cut him off. Then Herman continued to explain.
Herman explained their work was mainly writing the script for Season 2. They believe it’s even better than the first season’s story and are very proud of it. They also tested some of the cinematic parts and animation. However, the main developer, Telltale, said they needed more time. AdHoc is just a partner, not the one leading the whole game creation.
Once AdHoc finished their writing, they essentially had no more work on The Wolf Among Us 2. A studio cannot simply wait around. So, AdHoc had to start making their own new games to keep going. That’s how Dispatch came to be, and it’s launching soon.

"We are really looking forward to seeing what they do with it," Herman said. He added, "I don’t know how much of our script they will use. But if we can ever make a game that we write and direct ourselves, we think people will really love it. So, good luck to them." Shorette then chimed in with, "Oh, snap!"
So, AdHoc, the scriptwriting team, still doesn’t know when The Wolf Among Us 2 will be finished. They are not the core development team. After Dispatch releases, AdHoc plans another game. This new project is with Critical Role and will be a fantasy game set in a Dungeons & Dragons world.
