“Withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan is a defeat for the United States”

WASHINGTON: The United States, defeated after a 20-year war in Afghanistan, is facing disgrace around the world, with critics of its own.

In this regard, a former US official has called the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan after 20 years a defeat for the United States.

According to reports, Henry Kissinger, former US Secretary of State and former National Security Adviser, in his article highlighted the reasons for the US withdrawal from Afghanistan and called it an irreparable defeat.

He wrote in his article in the weekly magazine The Economist that what happened in Afghanistan was a voluntary and decisive defeat for the United States and that Washington saw itself in a situation where it had no choice but to withdraw from Afghanistan.

The former US secretary of state said the decision did not in any way consult his allies or those who had been in Afghanistan for 20 years.

He asked in his dissertation why Biden made such a decision. Why didn’t they consult their allies? Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has stressed that no other dramatic decision in the near future can compensate for the defeat in Afghanistan.
