Withdrawal from Afghanistan, Gulf Air’s achievement

Dubai: Gulf Air became the first company to reach the United States with evacuees from Afghanistan.

According to the details, Bahrain News Agency reported on Monday that a Gulf Air flight had landed in the United States, in which the evacuees from Afghanistan were on board.

The plane, owned by a Bahraini national carrier, has been taking part in a large-scale evacuation in Afghanistan since the Taliban took control of Kabul on August 15.

The report added that Gulf Air was the first commercial company in the world to arrive in the United States as part of its withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The United States has set a deadline of August 31 for the withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan, but President Joe Biden has said that date could be extended.

It should be noted that the United States has enlisted the help of six commercial airlines to evacuate Americans and endangered Afghans from Afghanistan, in order to expedite the evacuation process.

The Pentagon said Sunday it had called for 18 civilian planes from United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air and other airlines to take them on temporary flights from Afghanistan.
