With two HRS from Contreras Atlanta beats the Marlins

Venezuelan William Contreras hit two home runs, his compatriot Ronald Acuña Jr. extended his number of consecutive games reaching base to 28 since the previous season and the Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins 4-3.

Acuña singled, walked twice, stole a base and scored a run. His streak began last summer and was interrupted when the star outfielder injured his knee on July 10 in Miami, bringing his season to an end.

The Braves led 4-2 when closer Kenley Jansen struck out the first two batters in the ninth. DH Jacob Stallings walked, Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit an infield single and Garrett Cooper hit an RBI double.

Jansen struck out Jorge Soler, the previous World Series MVP with Atlanta, for his 10th save.

Kyle Wright (4-2) pitched five scoreless innings of two hits. he walked one and struck out five.

The defeat went to the Venezuelan Elieser Hernández (2-4).

For the Braves, Venezuelans Acuña Jr. 3-1 with a run scored and Contreras 3-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Marcell Ozuna 4-1 with a run scored and an RBI.

For the Marlins, the Venezuelans Avisaíl García 4-1, Jesús Aguilar 1-0 and Miguel Rojas 2-0. The Dominican Jesús Sánchez 3-1, his compatriot Bryan de la Cruz 4-0. Erik Gonzalez 2-0.
