Rosario Central rescued a point at home in an agonizing way last night but perhaps more importantly, it discovered a new jewel: Lautaro Giaccone, 22 years old and author of the great goal that sealed the 1-1 draw with Unión de Santa Fe in Arroyito.
The left-hander, who entered in the second half, received from the right, hooked to the middle and took a placed left foot that no goalkeeper could have taken. Crazy celebration and crying for the kid who was on loan at Ferro last year and last night added his 11th game at Central.
Unión had taken the lead at 40 minutes after an error in the start of the local team: Malcorra dawdled too much with the ball and ended up losing in their own half, Vera recovered and assisted Luna Diale for a good definition of the scorer against Broun.
Miguel Ángel Russo took Malcorra directly at halftime -also the youthful striker Veliz- but it was his next modification that made the difference: the kid Giaccone.
