With a history of almost two decades, Wisin and Yandel know the music business well and what has worked for them as an artist, which is why they advised Dominican urban artists to unite “so that the genre continues to grow.”
In an interview on the channel “El show de Carlos Durán”, the veteran artists spoke about the Dominican urban movement and its exponents and what they both agree on is that there is a lack of unity.
“The Dominican movement continues to grow, what we need is unity, that is the only thing because they are too creative, too talented people.”, expressed Wisin when highlighting the work of Chimbala, El Alfa and Rochy.
And he added that “we already need to start dealing with relationships, we all move towards the same north”, giving as an example that the urban genre in Puerto Rico was how it grew.
Also, Yandel supported what his partner said: “In the Dominican Republic what is needed is a producer who takes control of the situation and makes all these together and a record of all of them collaborating.”
On the other hand, they stated that they would like to record with maestro Juan Luis Guerra.
Wisin and Yandel are promoting “The last mission” their farewell tour and the last album together that comes out in April.
The artists will perform in the country on July 9 at the Quisqueya Stadium and promised that they will offer a unique experience for all Dominicans, remembering all their anthems that made them the “dynamic duo.”
