The recent Windows 11 update has been quite a troublemaker. Many users already know it caused issues with SSDs. But it seems the problems did not stop there. Microsoft’s latest patch brought more headaches for different users. The company has acknowledged all these new issues.
Problems for AutoCAD
The design and engineering crowd got hit hard. Windows 11 update KB5063878 is stopping AutoCAD from starting. Users need to run it as an administrator to get it working. This blocks regular user accounts from using the software. Imagine schools or labs where many students use AutoCAD. This update makes their work impossible. It’s a frustrating situation for these key environments.
This isn’t a brand new problem, either. Similar issues popped up before. Older Windows 11 updates, like KB5063875 and KB5064010, caused similar woes. Windows 10 users also faced this with KB5063877 and KB5063709. Microsoft confirms they know about this specific problem. It affects AutoCAD versions from 2022 all the way to 2026.
There’s a temporary workaround for now. If you’re facing this, uninstall the Windows update that came out on Patch Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Then, pause all updates for at least a week. Microsoft is actively discussing a proper fix with Autodesk.
NDI Streaming Snags
It’s not just designers feeling the pain. Livestreamers using NDI are also running into big issues. For those new to it, NDI, or Network Device Interface streaming, sends high-quality video and audio in real-time. It moves content over a local network and works great with tools like OBS.
Microsoft has confirmed a problem: NDI traffic is dropping. This means audio and video can lag when streaming. It shows up in Windows 11 version 24H2, especially when using OBS. While it mostly affects OBS, other NDI setups can also see this issue, though less often.
Windows Latest points to the same culprit, Windows 11 update KB5063878. If you rely on NDI for your streams and are having trouble, there are some steps to try. First, you might want to remove the troublesome update. Another option is to switch your NDI Receive Mode to TCP or UDP. Many users report problems specifically with RUDP mode. This lag becomes most obvious when your source computer uses Display Capture. This happens in apps like OBS or NDI Tools.
Users have been speaking up on Feedback Hub and Github. They’ve noted that DistroAV, an open-source tool, is now unusable. DistroAV adds NDI functions to OBS. It lets streamers send video and audio to another computer over a router without extra capture hardware. One user shared that their video would stutter badly every few seconds. Everything cleared up after they uninstalled the update. They were clear that it wasn’t an internet connection problem. You can find more details in Microsoft’s own documents.
