Last week we saw Windows 11. This is the latest version of Microsoft’s PC operating system, which will reach the first users (after testing) closer to the end of the year.
Although it is an operating system intended for computers, it seems that it is not impossible to make it work on Android smartphones. And we are not even talking about really recent equipment, as in the example shared we see it running on a OnePlus 6T 2018.
This feat was accomplished by the Renegade Project and shared on a YouTube video. But as you can read from the description of the video, noted by Android Authority, several things are not working.
In addition to the CPU, Bluetooth, USB and the touch screen work. However, Wi-Fi, mobile data, and non-Bluetooth audio are not yet working in this video.
But this is not the only smartphone that can install Windows 11. At Android Authority, Richard Gráčik, of the aforementioned project, reveals that other smartphones with Snapdragon 845 have been tested.
Among these we find names like the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, or the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, Xiaomi Mi 8 or the Poco F1. Soon we should also see the operating system being “ported” to even newer devices.
The OnePlus 6T was introduced in November 2018. With almost three years of life, it shows that the Snapdragon 845 inside is still quite capable in scenarios like this.
