Have you ever wished your phone and computer could just finish each other’s sentences? Microsoft is making that dream a little more real. They are working to make Windows 11 and Android devices feel like one seamless experience. This effort means you can soon move your work or play from your Android phone right to your Windows 11 PC, without missing a beat.
Microsoft has been showing us how they plan to achieve this deeper connection. New features are coming that will let you automatically pick up emails, web pages, or even music from your phone on your computer. This latest step is all about making your digital life much smoother.
The company keeps adding handy tools to Windows 11. These tools help you link your smartphone to your desktop. The newest trick lets you continue an activity from your Android phone directly on your PC. Right now, this kind of close connection isn’t available for iPhones.
Interestingly, this new “Resume” feature first launched with Spotify. You might think Microsoft would start with its own apps, like Email. But using a popular third-party app like Spotify shows that this feature isn’t just for Microsoft’s services. It feels like a nod to how things have changed. Years ago, Microsoft surely hoped to build this kind of bridge with its own Windows Phone. Now, the tech giant embraces Android, and users benefit greatly.
Here’s how to get started. First, connect your Android phone to your Windows PC using Bluetooth. You’ll also need the “Link to Windows” app installed on your phone. On your computer, make sure you have the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5761 (KB5064093) update. This update is currently in the Developer Channel. Don’t worry, it should be available for everyone soon.
Once set up, a small icon will pop up on your PC’s taskbar when you’re using a compatible app on your phone. This icon is your invitation to continue the activity on your computer. You’ll see a message like, “Continue from your phone. Spotify, continue on this PC.”
Today, this magic only works with Spotify. If you’re listening to a song or podcast on your phone, the PC app will open and pick up right where you left off. Just make sure both devices are logged into the same Spotify account. If Spotify isn’t installed on your computer, the system will download it and ask you to log in.

Microsoft plans to bring this clever Windows 11 feature to more applications. They haven’t said which ones yet. But it’s easy to imagine the possibilities. Think about easily moving between your phone and PC for web browsing, documents, videos, or messages. This could really change how we interact with our tech every day.
