Will the Scarlet Witch be the main villain of Doctor Strange 2?

/Warning, this article contains potential Doctor Strange 2 spoilers/

If fans of mcu ignited for the launch of the multiverse with Spider-Man: No Way Homewaiting for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is even more colossal. With the promise to launch us an exponential number of cameos (we are talking about Wolverine, Deadpool, the Fantastic 4, Charles Xavier, Loki, Mobius, Sylvie, Daredevil, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, Magneto or even Agatha Harkness). It’s hard to sort out what’s real news or nonsense, but one thing is certain, the film crystallizes the huge expectations of fans.

On the official return side, the film will include the return of part of the cast of the first opus with Benedict Cumberbatch in the role of Doctor Strange, Benedict Wong in the role of wong, Rachel McAdams in the role of Dr Christine Palmer and Chiwetel Ejiofor in the role of Mordo. Xochitl Gomez will join the cast, for the very first time as America Chávez. Moreover, it will also be an opportunity for us to find Elizabeth Olsen in the role of Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch. We left the ex-wife of Vision manipulating the Darkhold in Wanda Visionto try to find his children there Tommy and Billy.

Many rumors suggest that wanda will be the big villain of this Doctor Strange 2 and for many reasons. For starters, the lack of any real heavyweight antagonists in this sequel. If, in the trailer, there are three potential enemies: Shuma-Gorath (renamed Gargantos)the Supreme Doctor Strange or even the Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Eijofor)none seems truly capable of establishing itself as the standard-bearer of the opponents of Weird. This big bad guy could be wandaalso imposing a tense confrontation between her and the Doctor Strange in the last third of the film. If they appear as allies in the trailer, the scarlet witch could give in to the sirens of Darkhold in the hope of reuniting with her children.

Also, user leaks MyTimeToShineHello would have been published on the social network Redditthen relayed by the media ComicBookMovie. A user who justifies his sources coming from several Hollywood insiders like Daniel Richtman. These leaks announce that wandaby manipulating the Darkholdwill invoke Shuma Gorath to capture America Chávezwho would have the power to make her travel between dimensions to find her children. Weird will go in search of him and both will be confronted with Illuminatitribunal governing the welfare of the multiverse, led by Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart). At the end of the movie, wanda would eventually find Billy and Tommy but the latter would then push back their mother, who would have sunk into madness. Her desperation and rage would initiate a confrontation between her and Weirdending with the death of wanda.

This end of the film could favor in the mcu an arrival of Wiccan and Speedolder versions of the children of wanda. The latter would then join the young avengersthan Marvel would like to set up for a while in the company of Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), Iron Heart (Riri Williams), Kamala Khan (Iman Vellaini) or even Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton).

Be careful, however, because the film had to go into massive reshoots to introduce even more cameos following the spectacular aura of Tobey and Andrew in No Way Home. The rewrites also made it possible to better follow No Way Home with this new film by Sam Raimi. But if wanda was chosen as the antagonist, reshoots should not alter the final rendering. Which coincides even more with these theories: the Insider Daniel Richtmanone of the first to announce the returns of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield for No Way Home and the cast of Will Poulter in Adam Warlockteased a massive clash between wanda and a FOX mystery character (X-Men? Fantastic 4?).

However, if we take into account the first steps of the Illuminati, wanda could well face Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) who will try despite everything to reason with her. It is also hard to imagine the Darkholdintroduced in Wanda Visionnot having any specific importance in this new opus in the personal evolution of wanda.

“In Doctor Strange 2, Wanda will fight someone from the Fox-Verse (I’m not allowed to reveal who it is) but could win that fight. » ~Daniel Richtman

All these sources and theories agree in one direction: the fact that Wanda would indeed be the villain of this second film, which the promotional campaign of the film tries hard to hide. Answer on May 4, 2022.
