WI vs IND 2nd ODI: The second match of the three match ODI series between India and the West Indies was also played in Barbados. The first match of this series was also played at this wicket in which the India team won by 5 wickets. In the second ODI, the Windies beat Team India by 6 wickets to level the series 1-1. Today, the regular captain of the India team, Rohit Sharma, has not landed on the pitch, while Hardik Pandya was given the team captaincy in his place. Along with this, Virat Kohli was also given rest. After losing the toss, Shubman Gill and Ishaan Kishan gave Team India a 90-run start. Samson 9, Akshar 1 and Hardik returned to the arena after scoring 7 runs for India. Kishan scored 55 and Shubman Gill scored 34 runs. When the game started again after the rain, slowly Suryakumar Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja took the innings forward. But Jadeja couldn’t hold out for long and fell victim to Romario Shepherd after scoring just 10 runs. In the next, Surya also lost his wicket to Gudakesh Moti. After this Shardul Thakur was also unable to last long and in the end the India team were down to just 181 runs in 40.5 overs. West Indies now needed 182 runs to win and level the series.

Chasing the target of 182 runs, the West Indies got off to a good start. Kyle Myers started to take the game away from India early on. He scored 36 runs off 28 balls. The pairing of Myers and Brandon King added 53 runs in just 8.2 overs. Following this, Shardul Thakur rallied the team and took three consecutive wickets. Following this, Kuldeep Yadav also cleaned out Shimron Hetmyer giving India the fourth wicket. But Caribbean captain Shai Hope held his ground on one end and looked to carry forward the Windies’ hopes of victory. Then Carty and Hope made a 91-run unbeaten partnership by the fifth wicket and led their team to victory. Hope remained undefeated in ’63 and Carty in ’48.
