WI vs ENG: West Indies beat England by 9 wickets in the first T20, take a 1-0 series lead

In the first match of the five-match T20 series, the hosts West Indies recorded an emphatic 9-wicket victory over England to take a 1-0 series lead. In this match, the West Indies won the toss and invited England to bat first. England were first to bat after scoring just 103 runs from 19.4 overs.

This modest target given by England, the Caribbean host team achieved the goal by scoring 104 runs in 17.1 overs with Brendan King’s half-century innings. Brayden King remained unbeaten on 52 of 49 balls for the West Indies. And Nicholas Pooran scored 27 not out. The only batsman to be sacked by the West Indies was batsman Shai Hope who scored 20 runs.

Previously, the England team had a very disappointing performance while batting first. There were 7 batsmen on the team who didn’t even cross double figures.

Chris Jordan scored the most for England with 28 runs on 23 balls, which included three sixes. While Adil Rashid chipped in 22 runs. At the same time, among the top batsmen, captain Eoin Morgan scored 17 and James Vince scored 14 runs.
