During this, there will be a total of 55 matches in 27 days. At the same time, for the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup, 20 teams will be seen playing in this event. For the first time in cricket’s 147-year history, the ICC will stage any of its global events in the United States.
The T20 World Cup matches will be hosted in a total of 10 cities across the Americas and the West Indies. In this sense, the dates of all the venues and matches will also be announced soon. In addition to Florida, the 4 cities in the United States where the matches will take place are Morrisville, Dallas and New York. In this, only international matches have been organized in Florida so far, not a single match has been played in the stadiums of the other three cities.
Twenty teams will participate in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, in which 15 teams have qualified for the main tournament so far. In the T20 World Cup held in the year 2022, the top 8 teams that are in the top 8 position directly qualified for the main tournament. Apart from this, apart from Ireland and Scotland, the Papua New Guinea team also qualified for the main tournament.
20 teams will be divided into 4 groups of 5 each, after which 40 group matches will be played and the top 2 teams from all groups will be able to reach the Super-8. From here, 4 teams will qualify for the semifinals and the title game will be played on June 30. For the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup, more than 50 matches will be played.
