Saudi Arabia is now increasing flights from India with the aim of boosting domestic tourism.

According to foreign media, the Saudi Tourism Authority is set to increase flights from India by 19 percent to boost tourism in the kingdom and plans to increase the current 243 flights to 290 per week.

In this regard, Saudi Tourism Authority Asia Pacific Markets President Al Hassan Al-Dabagh said in an interview that about 10 visitors from India visited the kingdom last year and the new plan aims to double the number of visitors in 2023. We have welcomed 4 lakh Indian passengers during the first quarter of this year and we want to increase this number to 12 million by 2030.

Al-Hasan Al-Dabbagh said that Saudi Arabia is targeting two important segments of Indian travelers. The first are families who come to enjoy the rich cultural areas of the Kingdom and the second are travelers who visit Saudi Arabia to visit their friends and family. For this purpose we have opened nine VFS visa offices around India to increase the number of visitors to Saudi Arabia.

It should be noted that Saudi Arabia’s national tourism strategy aims to attract 100 million tourists by 2030, as well as increase the contribution of the tourism sector to the Kingdom’s gross domestic product by more than 10 percent.
