Riyadh: Saudi Arabian police arrested a foreigner for displaying large sums of money on social media.
According to Arab media reports, the arrested immigrant is from Pakistan. Preliminary investigation revealed that the man was showing money from a company.
The report said that the money seen in the viral video on short video sharing platform Tik Tak was not owned by the arrested person but by a company where his colleague works.
The Makkah Mukarramah region police say the arrested man is a Pakistani immigrant in his thirties.
Police said the arrested foreigner was proudly displaying the money, but was investigating how the money was obtained from the company.
In this regard, the police also said that his arrest was made with the help of a viral video and that the defendant is being investigated on charges of fraud and cybercrime.
