Why did it take Rajkumar Hirani 20 years to work with Shah Rukh Khan? ‘Dinky’ director revealed

Bollywood’s King Khan Shahrukh Khan has made back-to-back blockbuster films like ‘Pathan’ and ‘Jawaan’ this year. Now, as the year ends, the actor is rocking the theaters with his latest release Dinky. Recently, the film’s director Rajkumar Hirani had also celebrated the grand opening of ‘Dinky’. In an interview, Rajkumar Hirani revealed why it took him 20 years to work with Shah Rukh Khan.

In an interview with News18, Rajkumar Hirani said that he was attracted by the charm of Shah Rukh Khan. When he administered shots, he wore a mask and earplugs over his eyes. As soon as the shot was over, his assistant told him, “Sir, the shot is over,” and then he opened his eyes. He said that Shah Rukh is a great actor and an even better person.

The director further said that it took him two years to graduate from the film institute and by that time he had already become a big star. Therefore, she had to wait 20 years to work with him on a film.

According to Sacknilk’s report, “Donkey” grossed around Rs 29.2 million at the domestic box office on the first day of its release and the film’s worldwide collection was Rs 58 million. On the second day, the film grossed Rs 20 million. The film will cross Rs 50 crore on the third day.


“Donkey” is a comedy-drama based on the illegal immigration technique of Donkey Flights. Apart from Shahrukh, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar and Anil Grover have played important roles in the film. The film was directed by Rajkumar Hirani and co-written by Abhijat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon.
