Why couldn’t RCB make it to the playoffs? Here are the 3 big reasons not to qualify

Why RCB Did Not Qualify In Playoffs In IPL 2023: Indian Premier League has reached its final stage. All 70 games of the league phase have been played and now the playoff games will begin on May 23.

Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants qualified for the IPL 2023 playoffs. RCB failed to break into the top-4. Last night, May 21, RCB failed to qualify for playoffs after losing against Gujarat. Here’s why the last RCB missed out on qualifying for the playoffs.

1- Match finisher not bought in the auction

Royal Challengers Bangalore did not learn the lesson of IPL 2022 and did not buy any match finisher for number six or seven in the IPL 2023 auction. After the loss against Gujarat, captain Faf du Plessis admitted that this condition of the team was due to to the absence of explosive players in the number six or seven of the team. In the last season, Dinesh Karthik had a great finish in many matches. This year too the team depended on him but this year Karthik couldn’t hit like last season.

2- Rajat Patidar injured, reliable player not found at number three

RCB’s reliable number three batsman Rajat Patidar was injured early on. Because of this, despite Faf and Virat scoring many runs early on, neither player was able to hit number three. During this, Mahipal Lomror, Anuj Rawat and Shahbaz Ahmed were tested in this sequence, but they all turned out to be failures. RCB management then decided to feed Glenn Maxwell at number three, which turned out to be correct. But this made the middle order very weak. That means the team couldn’t find a suitable replacement for Rajat Patidar, which was one of the main reasons for his failure.

3- Lack of experienced Indian spinners

RCB had released Yuzvendra Chahal ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. Since then their spinners failed to perform like other successful teams. The team had high hopes for Vanindu Hasaranga, but no cash was seen on the Indian pitches. New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell couldn’t do anything amazing either. RCB clearly missed out on an experienced Indian spinner.
