Get ready for more masked mayhem and guessing games! The popular reality show, ‘¿Quién es la Máscara?’, is back for its seventh season. This exciting mix of talent, laughs, and mystery will hit screens on October 12th. You can catch all the action on the Las Estrellas channel in Mexico.
The show’s official Instagram account dropped a bombshell, revealing more than just the premiere date. Fans learned about two big changes for the new season. Actress Ana Brenda Contreras is joining the team of celebrity investigators. And get this – singer Anahí Puente will be returning to her spot on the panel, too!
Anahí’s comeback created a buzz on social media. Her name in the new promotional pictures raised a few eyebrows. You see, after the last season ended, Anahí faced some serious drama. She was investigated because some believed she might have cheated. The rumor was that she had inside information about the identities of the masked characters.
“I’m back!” Anahí wrote on her Instagram, sharing the news with fans. Her post quickly filled with comments from people celebrating her return to ‘¿Quién es la Máscara?’.
Meanwhile, Mexican actress and model Ana Brenda Contreras appeared in the group photo. Fans were thrilled to see her. They even started asking her to sing a song with Anahí. Ana Brenda is stepping in for Martha Higareda this season. Martha will be busy with a wonderful reason: she’s expecting twins and will take time off for her pregnancy.
Juanpa Zurita and Carlos Rivera will also be back as investigators. Omar Chaparro will continue to host the episodes, keeping the show running smoothly.

The controversy around Anahí started when she was accused of having access to the list of masked celebrities. This would have given her an unfair advantage during the show. The 42-year-old star firmly denied these claims. Despite her denial, TelevisaUnivision announced they would look into the matter.
Miguel Ángel Fox, the show’s producer, even asked the auditing and legal teams to formally investigate Anahí and her manager, Danna Vázquez. But just hours later, after Anahí spoke out to defend herself, the TV network dropped the investigation against her. Around the same time, Anahí announced she was parting ways with her artistic representatives.
Anahí shared her side, saying, “You all know me. I have always acted with total honesty and professionalism. I’ve never had anything to hide, and this is no different.” In the same message, she added, “Neither Danna Vázquez nor her agency (Prensa Danna) will be my artistic or media representatives. I don’t plan to rely on them for future professional projects. I wish them the very best in their professional and personal lives.”
TelevisaUnivision also released a new statement to clear things up. They said, “We have had a relationship with Anahí for over 40 years. Throughout this time, she has always shown respect and affection for her home. We have always recognized her professional conduct and performance.”
Danna Vázquez didn’t stay quiet either. Around that time, she met with reporters during an event for singer Gloria Trevi. She took the chance to make it clear she did nothing wrong or tricky during ‘¿Quién es la Máscara?’.
“I didn’t do anything,” the manager stated. “It’s like when life throws something at you that you don’t understand, and I will always be available if they ever want to tell me exactly what bothered them. I will accept any punishment like a responsible adult, I just don’t know what happened… I didn’t know this level of fear before, and now I have it.”
With the past behind them, the new season promises to be full of new energy, thanks to Ana Brenda Contreras. And with Anahí’s return, fans are surely in for a wild ride.
