Saudi Arabia made vaccination mandatory for local pilgrims.
If you are planning to go on Hajj this year, it is important to make sure that you are also aware of the mandatory Hajj vaccinations.
Earlier this week, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that local pilgrims who live in the Kingdom and who performed Hajj five years ago can also apply for this year’s Hajj.

On April 2, a post on the ministry’s English-language Twitter account published information about the need for local Hajj pilgrims to complete vaccinations in order to obtain a Hajj permit.
Vaccination for local pilgrims
According to the ministry’s post, local pilgrims need to get the following mandatory vaccines.
• Covid-19 vaccine
• Meningitis vaccine
• Seasonal influenza vaccine
According to the notice, the last day to complete the necessary vaccinations is 10 days before the start of the Hajj season. The Hajj to be held on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah is likely to begin on June 26 this year, but the final date will be announced after the sighting of the Dhul-Hijjah moon.
