Which apps are blocked in Saudi Arabia? –

Riyadh: Calls to apps that do not comply with the country’s laws and regulations have been blocked in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi minister said, adding that keeping users’ data confidential has emerged as a global challenge.

According to the Saudi website, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has said that calls to apps that do not comply with the country’s rules and regulations will remain closed.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Sawaha has said that no one will be allowed to cross the red line which protects the sovereignty and security of the country and the nation.

He said that due to careless sharing of sensitive data by people on social media, keeping user data confidential has emerged as a global challenge.

According to the Saudi minister, the government has taken action against some of the companies that sold consumer data, stressing that raising awareness and setting rules and regulations is the government’s primary responsibility.
