The beginning of the tragedy in Meena Kumari’s life had started with her birth. Meena was fond of reading and writing since childhood, but her compulsion made her appear on the color screen to earn money. Worldliness taught Meena such a lesson that she became a serious poet.

Meena Kumari also fell in love while narrating the love stories on the big screen. She fell in love with director Kamal Amrohi, whose story began with Musammi juice. When the two first met in 1949, Kamal Amrohi was married at the time. It so happened that once Meena was admitted to the hospital. Kamal came to Amrohi Hospital to see her and forced Meena, who was not eating or drinking anything, to drink Musammi juice.
