Bollywood actress Rekha is considered one of the most famous stars in the industry. However, her journey to becoming a star was not an easy one. Rekha was the daughter of Tamil and Telugu actors Pentapadu Pushpavalli and Ganapathy Subramaniam Sarma or Ramasamy Ganesan, better known by her professional name Gemini Ganesan. Gemini Ganesan was one of the three biggest names in Tamil cinema, one is MG Ramachandran and the other is Sivaji Ganesan. Gemini Ganesan was known for his romantic movies. She made her debut in 1947 with the movie ‘Miss Malini’.

Apart from his professional life, Gemini had made many headlines in his life. At the age of 19, Gemini Ganesan married Alamelu and they have four daughters. Revathi, Kamala, Jayalakshmi and Narayani. He later married Pushpavalli, with whom he has two daughters, Bollywood actress Rekha and Radha. In one of her previous interviews, Narayani recalled how she first met Rekha. He said: ‘She was beautiful and she had kajal in her eyes. She was named Bhanurekha. I asked him ‘What is your father’s name?’ He said, ‘Gemini Ganesan’. my eyes went full of tears. How can it be like this? He was my father. ‘

For a long time, Rekha did not speak of her family. Geminis didn’t like her much as her daughter, either. He rarely knew Rekha and Radha. In an interview with Simi Garewal, Rekha had said that her father never knew of her existence. His mother spoke of him often. Rekha said: ‘They had dated when I was a kid, I don’t remember that time. We never had the feeling that something was normal or useless. Mom never used to cry because my husband had left me. She used to say nice things about him. I was madly in love with him. Let us tell you that Gemini Ganesan married Savitri for the third time with whom he has two sons, a daughter Vijaya Chamundeshwari and the only son of Ganesan, Satish Kumar. He married Juliana Andrew for the fourth time in 1998.
