Recently, Dogecoin (DOGE) has been in the news because it is linked to not one, but two space missions. One of these two missions was a success, but the second mission was postponed. Judging by the Dogecoin price, this was disappointing for traders, but there is still a lot of uncertainty. You can read exactly what the situation is here.

First Dogecoin mission successful
The first mission began on December 23 with the launch of the Vulcan Centaur Rocket from the United Launch Alliance (ULA). This rocket brought Astrobotic's Peregrine lunar lander to the moon.
The car was commissioned by NASA and is intended to carry out scientific tests on the celestial body. In addition, various companies, in collaboration with the parcel delivery service DHL, have created a kind of time capsule into which various crypto companies have also inserted something.
BitMEX, for example, added a physical Bitcoin. We should think of the private keys of a wallet with 1 BTC. The address is public, meaning anyone can send Bitcoin (BTC) to it. The Dogecoin community also partially financed the mission, with DOGE of all things. As a thank you, the “MoonBox” also contains a physical DOGE coin. The launch was successful, however the satellite suffered a fuel leak, which unfortunately led to the mission to the moon itself being aborted.
Second mission slightly postponed
You might say, “Where is Elon Musk in this picture?” Well, it has nothing to do with this project. Musk has worked on a second Moon mission with a Dogecoin theme. The launch was originally scheduled for this month, but has now been pushed back to sometime in mid-February.
This comes from an announcement from Intuitive Machines, the company that developed this lunar mission. Unfortunately there is no exact date yet. This mission also includes a car that, according to the company, will also be used for scientific research. Unlike Astrobotic’s launch, Intuitive Machines’ launch was paid entirely in DOGE. Additionally, DOGE will continue to orbit the moon as part of this mission.
This mission will take place with Musk's rocket, namely a Falcon 9 from SpaceX. However, this is not the first postponement, as Musk's original announcement mentioned a launch in 2022. In any case, the lander has already been taken to the launch pad in Cape Canaveral, Florida. So it's going to happen really soon.
