Lyricist and famous poet Gulzar made his Bollywood debut in the year 1963 with Bimal Roy’s film ‘Bandini’. He wrote the song ‘Mera Gora Rang Lei Le’ for this movie. Before joining the film industry, Gulzar worked in an auto shop. At the same time, Gulzar had revealed that his family was not happy with him becoming a writer and they wanted Gulzar to have a regular job.
Gulzar had said: ‘Everyone wanted me to do a regular job. Because I thought that no one could make a living from writing. If you are writing books, even today you can never stop writing. Now, the writers have more work to do.
Apart from this, Gulzar further said: ‘I have always liked to read. I used to read Sarat Chandra by Rabindranath Tagore. A great family is seen in the great stories of Sarat Chandra. I started seeing my family in Sarat Chandra’s stories.
