When Elgar beat the Indian bowlers, Rohit scored, Ravi Shastri raised questions about the decision.

South Africa strengthened its influence in the Test match between India and South Africa in Centurion. Based on the first innings, she appears to be taking a big lead. Thanks to Dean Elgar’s century, the Proteas team got the upper hand here. Now that Team India is trailing in this Test, Rohit Sharma’s captaincy has once again achieved the goal.

Former Team India coach Ravi Shastri has criticized a decision made by Rohit Sharma. He took Rohit to task for not fielding his good bowlers at the start of the second session. In fact, after lunch, Rohit Sharma had appointed Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna to bowl. While these two bowlers couldn’t do anything special in the first session. In such a situation, Shastri said that Rohit should have given the ball to Bumrah and Siraj instead of these two.

Shastri said this because Dean Elgar had thrashed these two bowlers badly in the second session. Shastri’s argument was also that at the start of a new season, the best bowlers should be brought forward as at the start of every season the batsman is not yet decided and in such a situation there is hope of getting wickets.

Shastri said, “Definitely these two (Shardul and Prasidh Krishna) should have been the last options to start the season.” When I was the coach, we had often discussed this. And we went with our two best bowlers at the start of every season.

On the second day of the Centurion Test, Team India’s first innings was restricted to 245. In response, South Africa got off to a steady start in the first session itself. At the start of the second session, Rohit Sharma deployed Shardul and Prasidh and they gave away 42 runs in the first 8 overs. For this reason, Ravi Shastri criticized Rohit’s decision.
