Shatrughan Sinha also shared the story of the movie ‘Kala Patthar’ in his autobiography, according to which he was beaten by Amitabh Bachchan during the shooting of this movie. Shatrughan Sinha says that in the 70s he was liked more than Amitabh Bachchan in Bollywood. Amitabh and my screen partner were said to be a super hit which resulted in many hit movies but after that he didn’t want to work with me as he felt he was getting the fame he should have.
Shatrughan Sinha has written in his biography ‘Anything But Khamosh’ that Amitabh had brutally beaten me in a scene during the shooting of ‘Kala Patthar’. He beat me continuously and the people present did not understand anything. Shashi Kapoor somehow saved me that day.
Shatrughan Sinha claims that he was never offered a chair next to Amitabh on the sets of ‘Kala Patthar’. Apart from this, his umbrella was also not shared with me. We were both in the same hotel. I used to shoot for the same movie. Despite this, Amitabh did not take me in his car. Shatrughan claims that at the time my performance was highly praised, so Amitabh was upset. In such a situation, he didn’t want me to be a part of his movie. Because of this, I refused to work on many movies. Even the amount of the signature was also returned.
