WhatsApp’s New Quick Summary Feature Condenses Up to Five Conversations

It’s July 23, 2025, and many of us feel like our WhatsApp is always buzzing. All those incoming messages and ongoing chats can easily become overwhelming. But Meta, the company behind WhatsApp, wants to make managing these conversations a lot simpler. They’re rolling out new summary features, and there’s a big update on the horizon. Soon, you might be able to get a quick summary of several chats all at once.

Just last month, WhatsApp introduced a stable version of its “Message Summaries” feature. This handy tool lets you catch up on unread messages within a single conversation. However, it only works for one chat at a time. If you have dozens of group chats or personal conversations piling up, that’s still a lot of tapping. So, WhatsApp is cooking up something more powerful called “Quick Summary.”

This new “Quick Summary” feature will change how we deal with chat overload. It will allow users to summarize messages from multiple conversations simultaneously. Imagine getting the gist of several group chats without having to open each one individually.

According to reports from WABetaInfo, “Quick Summary” will let you condense messages from up to five conversations at most. Using it will be straightforward. You just need to select the chats you want summarized from your “Chats” tab. Then, tap on the three-dot menu icon in the top right corner. Finally, click on “Quick Summary.”

WABetaInfo also notes that, just like the existing Message Summaries, the new “Quick Summary” feature uses Meta’s Private Processing technology. This is a big deal for privacy. It means that neither your original messages nor the generated summaries can be read by anyone else. Not even Meta or WhatsApp itself can see them. Your conversations remain truly private.

It’s worth noting that “Quick Summary” will be optional. It will come deactivated by default. Also, any conversations protected by “Advanced Chat Privacy” won’t be eligible for summarization using this new feature.

This upcoming addition will genuinely make life easier for WhatsApp users. Many of us have a constant flow of messages and simply cannot read every single one. These summary tools offer a neat way to get the important information without sifting through everything. It’s about condensing what’s truly useful.

WABetaInfo first spotted this feature in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.21.12. However, even if you’re using that beta version, you won’t see “Quick Summary” yet. It’s still under active development. We expect it to become available for beta users in future updates. After that, it should roll out to all users in a stable release.
