WhatsApp has received an update that allows users share HD photos via messaging app, according to an announcement by Mark Zuckerberg.
This feature allows you to keep the high-resolution resolution of the photos you share with friends and family.
To access the new feature, you must first update your app to the latest version. After that, you’ll notice a new “HD” button at the top of the photo sharing screen, along with the other photo editing tools like rotating and adding text and stickers to the photo.
Pressing the HD button will open a new pop-up window where you can choose the quality of the photo. By default, Standard Quality is selected. WhatsApp claims that this decision was made to ensure photo sharing remains fast and reliable. But now, You can choose HD quality instead to keep the high-resolution version of the photo.
After you send the photo, The recipient sees the photo, now labeled with the HD labelue appears in the lower-left corner, letting you know that you’ve shared a higher-quality image. All photos are protected by WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption.
According to the company, if you receive a photo while on a low-bandwidth connection, you can choose photo by photo if you want to keep the standard version or upgrade to HD.
