Meta has been improving the features and functionality of the WhatsApp chat platform. And now a new update brings news that can be very useful for all users of the application.

From now on, the platform allows you to send messages directly or mute specific contacts inserted in a chat group, during a call. This feature is especially useful if someone accidentally turns on the microphone during a multi-party call.

The announcement of the new features was made on the social network Twitter by the person in charge of WhatsApp, William Cathcart, who added that now the platform also has an indicator that alerts when more people join the phone call.

It should also be noted that the ability to mute specific contacts during the call is an option that is available to all participants. And when a contact is muted, a “mute” symbol appears next to the participant’s name.

WhatsApp could allow you to edit messages already sent

However, other news related to the chat platform shows that WhatsApp could soon allow the user to edit messages that have already been sent.

The information was recently released by the WABetaInfo website and, if confirmed, will respond to the wishes of many users of this application. The referred site found a new option to “edit messages” in a version that is not yet available to users.

Currently, users can only delete the sent message or write a new message to correct the one they sent.
