In its latest beta, WhatsApp allows you to manage the size of the data backup. Concretely, it is possible to choose which media will be stored during the next backup, excluding those we no longer need. On the surface, then, this is a good thing. This will give the possibility of reducing the size of the files which are then stored on Google Drive. This is exactly what WhatsApp wants, and for a very specific reason.

According to several sources, Google is preparing to review its strategy, by offering only 2000MB of WhatsApp storage per user.
