WhatsApp wants to end misunderstandings in the messaging app

WhatsApp continues to receive great news week after week, with many improvements entering the testing phase before reaching the general public. Among these, we are now reporting an improvement that could prevent future misunderstandings in the app.

For users, if you are successful in the testing (beta) phase, the ability to change or define a new title and name for files shared in chats may be available. Images, videos, clips, photographs, GIFs and even documents are at stake.

The news was first discovered by the publication. WABetaInfo, always attentive to the designs of the app. It should be noted that this possibility is present in the version 2.23.8.22 WhatsApp for Android, currently in beta testing phase.

As we mentioned before, we can change the current name of a certain file, replacing it with another one that we like or that better describes the content sent. The functionality could effectively prevent some communication mishaps.

It can also be helpful to add a detailed description so that the recipient can more easily understand what it is about. It’s a great way to speed up communication and make sure we don’t ship something with a wrong or random description.

The option is already available for users of the test (beta) version for Android devices. Therefore, if you are subscribed to this modality, you only have to update the application to be able to try this new function immediately.

In any case, these same capabilities are expected to also reach iOS (iPhone) users over the next few weeks. The same applies to users of the soon-to-be stable version.

It’s the latest feature to come to the world’s most popular instant messaging app, giving you new features to stay ahead of rival Telegram, for example.
