WhatsApp continues testing new options to delight its users. The instant messaging app now works with ephemeral messages that will disappear after a period of 90 days or three months. At the same time, WhatsApp continues testing a self-destruct option after 24 hours.
WhatsApp already offers a number of options for users who want to send messages that disappear after a while. Currently, Facebook instant messaging allows a message to disappear after a period of 7 days.
Recently, WhatsApp also offered to delete a message once it has been read by the recipient. This option, called View Once, was recently deployed to all users after a long period of beta testing.

Now the WhatsApp development teams are analyzing a new ephemeral message option. According to the specialized website WABetaInfo, the latest beta version of the Android application, numbered 2.21.17.16, has a new time limit. Beta users can indeed set a message to disappear in 90 days, or an entire room.
As can be seen in the image below, provided by the media, WhatsApp continues testing an option that allows the user to dismiss a message after a period of 24 hours. The option has been available in beta since last April.
According to WhatsApp, ephemeral messages offer “The tranquility of knowing that your conversations will not be held indefinitely, without sacrificing the practicality of knowing what was the object of your discussion.” However, it should be remembered that it is always possible for your interlocutor to take a screenshot of your exchange.
For now we don’t know when will these options be integrated into the stable WhatsApp version on Android and iOS. It is not uncommon for a feature to remain confined to the beta program for several months.
