WhatsApp is testing a new feature that could be integrated into the world’s most widely used direct messaging app in the near future. This was discovered by the experts on the WABetaInfo page.
Reaction to States about to reach WhatsApp
The new functionality is linked to States, and the possibility of being able to react to them. For Beta users, it is now possible to react to Statuses from a selection of 8 emojis, just like on Instagram, which you can check out below.
As the source says, it will be very easy for Beta users to understand if they already have access to this new feature. Just look for a status update and swipe up to confirm it’s available.
You can choose from a selection of these emojis: smiling face and eyes with hearts, face with tears of joy, face with open mouth, crying face, praying hands, clapping hands, festive horn and 100 points.
You should note that if someone reacts to your status update, the emoji will be sent to you as a normal message. As such, you will always be notified when you receive a reaction to your status.
According to this source, only some users of the beta version of WhatsApp 2.22.17.24 for Android have access to this new feature. However, some users of slightly older versions also gain access.
