WhatsApp has provided a new facility for users to send video messages

Meta-owned WhatsApp has announced that users using the platform will now be able to record a video clip and send it directly.

These video messages can be up to 60 seconds long and are as secure as the end-to-end encryption service.

The company said in its blog post, “We believe that sharing your emotions and connected moments through video, like wishing someone a happy birthday, laughing at a joke, or sharing good news, It will be a fun experience.”

According to the company, the new feature will work in the same way as sending voice messages, while it will also be a way to record hands-free video.

The new update has started rolling out to the app, with the feature rolling out to everyone in the next few weeks.

Earlier this year, WhatsApp introduced an update that allows users to edit messages in the app (provided the edits are made within 15 minutes).

It should be noted that Meta’s revenue from WhatsApp was better than expected, with revenue up 11 percent year-over-year to $32 billion in the quarter ended June, according to the company.
