With the normal course of time, applications end up withdrawing support for older versions of the operating system. And as of November 1, Android and iPhone devices will no longer be compatible with this widely used messaging app.
According to what you can read on the WhatsApp “Help Center” page, this will now only be supported on Android 4.1 and iOS 10 and above. For those who have a device with KaiOS 2.5.1 or later, it is still supported as well.
Who loses support for WhatsApp on November 1, 2021?
If you have a smartphone or tablet with Android 4.0.3, this will lose support for WhatsApp as of November 1. The same is true if you have a device with iOS 9. In case of having equipment with KaiOS 2.5.0, also loses support.
This means that to continue with WhatsApp, you will need to have at least the versions of the operating system that are mentioned in the list below. Otherwise, the only solution is to switch to newer equipment.
It is important to emphasize that the proportion of users that will be affected will be very small. But if you are still using one of these versions on your daily computer and WhatsApp is part of your routine, it is time to think about the next step.
