The Indian government yesterday described Delta Plus, a new distorted version of the Covid 19 virus, as a cause for concern. According to Indian experts, 40 Delta Plus-type cases have been reported in three states of Maharashtra, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh.
In this regard, Saudi infectious disease specialist Ahmed Al-Hakawi said on Tuesday that the Delta Plus variant had appeared in Europe in March and in India a few months ago.
Two Delta Plus variants were reported in South Korea earlier this week. Additionally, South Korea has seen a sharp increase in coyote cases.
Ahmed Al-Hakawi said that the Delta Plus variant is slightly different from the original Delta variant of the code, but it cannot be awarded “Delta Plus” status without confirmation from medical experts. There is currently no evidence that this new variant is spreading faster than the Delta variant.
It should be remembered that 102 people have been arrested in Mecca for violating quarantine rules after passing a corona test. Police say that after initial legal action, these people’s cases will be turned over to the proper authorities.
Violators of the state-imposed Corona rules could face a fine of 200,000 rials (ہزار 53,000) or two years in prison (or both).
In case of repeated violations, the punishment can be doubled. If any of the non-Saudis violated the quarantine rules, they could be deported and permanently barred from entering the country.
Thirteen people died of corona in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, and there are currently a total of 10,311 active corona cases, of which 8,297 patients are in critical condition.
On the other hand, the Indian government says that the Delta Plus type has the ability to move more, bind to lung receptors and slow down the response of antibodies.
