If it was pushed back to the end March 2022, we should finally, in the spring, be able to discover what Morbius of Daniel Espinosa. sony continues to explore its universe around the evil cults of Spiderman. After Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which will not have particularly marked the minds of the spectators, the public is about to discover the adventures of Doctor Michael Morbius, embodied by Jared Leto. The fans of Spiderman and of Marvel are still troubled by the conclusion of No Way Home who threw his world off balance regarding the spatio-temporal framework that Morbius will set up.
Indeed, Venom, visiting the MCU universe just to leave a drop of the Symbiote, left fissa in its dimension. This means one thing clear: there will be a new Venom in the MCU, which many theories suggest will take over Michael Mando, suppose to be Scorpio. A reversal of the jacket regarding the character who might not bother Marvel. Nor is it impossible that Peter Parker version Tom Holland be confronted with the Symbiote much like with Tobey Maguire in Spider Man 3.
So the world of Venom (Sony) and that of MCU (Disney) are indeed two worlds apart and Morbius will take root in the second. The character played by Jared Leto also gives a funny wink to Eddie Brock at the end of the second trailer and Daniel Espinosa had spoiled an appearance of Tom Hardy in the movie. This raises a key question: What is Michael Keaton (The Vulture) doing in this film?
We left a Adrian Toomes in jail at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, discussing with the Scorpio to take revenge on Peter Parker. However, at the end of No Way Home, no one is supposed to remember who is Peter Parker, of which the Vulture. No particular reason for Adrian Toomes to start a large-scale recruitment of supervillains to fight a weaver against whom he no longer has any grievances… at least in this universe.
Because the Vulture, present in Morbius, seeks to recruit the latter to build a team of Sinister Six. If we also take into account the posters “murderer” with the picture of Spiderman, this makes it impossible to link Morbius and the outcome of far from home since everyone has forgotten that Peter Parker was responsible for the death of Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal). It is therefore very likely that Morbius takes place in the universe of another Spiderman.
Could it be Andrew Garfield?
the Spiderman franchise Amazing came to treat himself to an additional lap in No Way Home, much to the surprise of fans. He reveals to Peter Parker of Tom Holland to have sunk into darkness after the death of Gwen Stacy, implying that he may have gone the way of a murderous superhero. If we add to this the insistent rumors of a return of the actor in the spider-man costume, the construction of the Sinister Six could be unique to the universe sony and not at mcu, signaling the end of a large number of theories but also a new mystery: Why is the Vulture present and still embodied by Michael Keaton?
Two possibilities: Either the character can travel between dimensions, or it is a variant of the Vulture, specific to the universe sony. Something which is not impossible if we take into account the character of Jonah Jameson. The same actor (JK Simmons) portrayed the character under his franchise iterations of Sam Raimi but also in the mcu. Keaton could therefore play on two counts.
However, this means that the Sinister Six, while they were dialed at high speed in the mcu, will take more introduction time. The six villains could face the weaver ofAndrew Garfield. Morbius would be the second thief (Jared Leto) and Kraven the third (Aaron Taylor Johnson). It should also be noted that Morbius, is one of the only major Hollywood productions to have been postponed due to the resurgence of covid-19 by the Omicron variant. This delay could perhaps hide some reshoots in the company ofAndrew Garfield, following the events of No Way Home. Anyway, these are still theories to be taken with a grain of salt, and we will have to wait for the release of Morbius to know more.
