Western nations have not learned from Libya and Syria: Russia

MOSCOW: Russia’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova says Western nations have not learned from Libya and Syria.

Russia has sharply criticized Western countries’ stance and attitude towards Afghanistan, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement.

He says Western countries have not learned from their experience in Libya and Syria, and have taken an unrealistic stance and acted hastily in Afghanistan.

A Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman said Moscow had repeatedly warned the West against imposing Western culture on Eastern nations with their own civilizations.

A Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman had earlier condemned the attack on Kabul Airport in a statement issued by the Islamic State terrorist group.

In his statement, he said that the purpose of the ISIS attack was to further complicate the situation in Afghanistan. One hundred and seventy people were killed in the attack last Thursday, including 13 US military personnel.
