South Africa Announces Test Squad for West Indies Series
South Africa Test Squad:
A two-Test match series is set to take place between West Indies and South Africa, with the first match commencing on August 7. The Proteas have announced a 16-member squad for the series, led by captain Temba Bavuma.
Matthew Breetzke, who impressed in domestic cricket, has made his Test debut. He scored 322 runs at an average of 46 in a four-day domestic tournament and also captained the South Africa-A team.
Ryan Rickelton is Back
Wicketkeeper batsman Ryan Rickelton has made a comeback to the Test squad, while all-rounder Marco Jansen has been rested due to workload management.
Test Coach Shukri Conrad Speaks
South Africa’s Test coach Shukri Conrad stated that the team is looking forward to returning to Test cricket after a series of limited overs matches. The tour is crucial for the Proteas as they aim to improve their position in the ICC World Test Championship.
