West Indies Team Announced for Pakistan and Netherlands ODI Series, See Full Schedule

The West Indies cricket team will play the ODI series with the Netherlands and Pakistan at the end of May and next month. The Caribbean team has to play ODI series from the Netherlands from May 31 and from Pakistan from June 8. For this, the West Indies Cricket Board has announced the team. Jason Holder has been rested for both series.

Nicholas Pooran has been named captain of the West Indies for the upcoming ODI series against the Netherlands and Pakistan. Off-roader Jason Holder has been rested from both tours. The West Indies team will tour the Netherlands and Pakistan to play a three-match ODI series against both teams, respectively. Their series against the Netherlands will be the first between the two teams. Both series will form part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.

Three new faces have a shot at the 15-man squad, including fast pitchers Jaden Seals and Shermon Lewis, as well as slugger Kesey Carty. Carty has become the first player from St Maarten to be selected for the West Indies team.

Chief selector Desmond Haynes said of Carty’s inclusion: “We were impressed with Carty and the way he has performed, we saw many glimpses of his potential, the way he played for the CWI President’s XI earlier this year in England. We hope he seizes this opportunity for the West Indies.”

Haynes also praised Seals and Lewis, stating that the Windies were going to build a great team with the future in mind. All-rounder Jason Holder has been rested for two rounds, while Evin Lewis will also miss because he didn’t meet CWI’s fitness criteria.
