Captain Craig Brathwaite played a brilliant 94-run innings for the West Indies.

The West Indies were eliminated by 265 after tea on the second day, giving them a 162-run lead in the early innings. By the end of the second day’s game, Bangladesh had lost two second-inning wickets by 50 runs. Bangladesh is still 112 runs behind with eight wickets remaining.

Brathwaite scored his fifth half-century in the last eight Test innings. He was on his way to his Test 11th century, but mid-paced Khalid Ahmed took him out of the leg earlier with a low ball.

The West Indies lost only Ann Bonner’s wicket in the morning session, but she faced the new ball, losing three in the middle session and four in nine overs after tea. Jermaine Blackwood was sacked after scoring 63 runs on 139 balls, which was sent to the pavilion by Ahmed. G Moti, who landed at number ten, went 23 unbeaten runs on 21 balls while making his debut.

Off-spinner Mehdi Hasan Miraj took four wickets for 59 runs for Bangladesh. At the end of the second day’s play, Bangladesh’s Mahmudul Hasan 18 and Najmul Hossain Shanto were playing in eight runs.
