Legendary football manager Arsène Wenger offered a scathing assessment of the recent “El Clásico” between Real Madrid and Barcelona, describing it as “a little like a game between men and children.”
Wenger, a 76-year-old French analyst for BeIN Sports, delivered his sharp critique following Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory over their Catalan rivals on Sunday. He emphasized a stark difference in performance between the two Spanish giants.

He pointed to Real Madrid’s defensive solidity as a key factor. Conversely, he found Barcelona’s attack to be largely ineffective throughout the match.
“The defense of Real Madrid was much stronger than that of Barcelona,” Wenger stated. “In attack, Real Madrid always seemed capable of scoring, while Barcelona seemed ineffective.”
Wenger also reserved praise for Real Madrid’s coach, Xabi Alonso, acknowledging his strategic success.
“I give him credit,” Wenger said of Alonso. “He balanced his team well.”
The high-profile Spanish league match took place at Real Madrid’s home stadium, the Santiago Bernabéu.
