Will Wednesday Addams and Tyler Galpin find their way back to romance in the upcoming third season? Their journey has been quite the rollercoaster, going from sweet friends to budding lovers, then fierce enemies, and finally, reluctant allies. Fans are buzzing to see if love can conquer their dark past.
Netflix introduced us to a fresh take on Wednesday Addams when the show Wednesday premiered in 2022. But many fans already knew the iconic gothic character from Addams Family Values, where Christina Ricci played her perfectly, always drawn to the gloomy and grim. Jenna Ortega‘s Wednesday shared those same spooky interests. So, it was a real surprise when she clicked with Tyler, the local barista played by Tyler Doohan, during Season 1. The big reveal that Tyler was the monstrous Hyde, the very killer Wednesday was hunting, suddenly made their strange attraction make a lot more sense.
Even though their first season was packed with intense moments, it was after the second season that the fictional pair truly blew up on social media. Now, viewers are practically begging for Wednesday to give Tyler another shot. Many argue their unique, dark histories make them the perfect, twisted match. The good news? Netflix has already confirmed Season 3 is happening! The show’s cast and crew have shared their thoughts on Wednesday and Tyler’s undeniable chemistry and what might be coming next for them.
Their Deep Connection

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly in August 2025, Tyler Doohan shared his thoughts on Wednesday and Tyler’s unique bond. "Wednesday probably felt like she was the only one who—because she’s Wednesday Addams—wouldn’t be scared of him or hate him for those parts of himself," he said. He added, "She might even accept them." Doohan then posed a fascinating question, hinting at their future: "Can anyone really be too dark for Wednesday Addams?"
Glimmers of What’s Next

After Wednesday reportedly saved Tyler at the end of Season 2, Doohan opened up to Collider in September 2025 about what might be next. "Tyler can be quite a show-off," he noted. "It’s funny to see those moments pop up." He even recalled a scene: "Even when he’s a Hyde about to attack Enid, Wednesday tells him, ‘I lied about my feelings,’ and even in Hyde form, he still replies, ‘Tell me more.’" This small detail shows the powerful pull between them.
Where Things Stand Between Them

Show creator Miles Millar shared his perspective with Variety in September 2025. "There’s a deep connection and appreciation because they both step outside of what a normal person would do," he explained. "They share a respect and connection that neither of them fully grasp just yet." Millar added that both characters seem "confused and surprised" by how they act around each other. "They’re not quite sure how to handle their relationship dynamic," he said, "and that definitely hints at what could unfold in Season 3."
