Someone who knows a thing or two about debuting young is none other than the legendary Wayne Rooney. At 39, Rooney watched Dowman’s big moment closely. He remembered his own first taste of Premier League football with Everton in October 2002. He was just five days shy of his 17th birthday then, making him the perfect person to offer some wisdom to the newest teenage sensation.
