Former Sri Lankan player Kumar Sangakkara rang the bell and the match started. The video of him is going viral on social media. The match is started in Eden Gardens only by ringing this bell. This bell was first rung by former World Cup winning Indian captain Kapil Dev.

The bell was installed in 2016

This bell was installed at Eden Gardens in 2016. The game of the day is started with this bell. This includes Test, ODI and T20 International. Kapil Dev rang the bell for the first time in September 2016 for the start of the Test match played between India and New Zealand. Now that this match is being played between India and Sri Lanka, Kumar Sangakkara started this match by ringing the bell. Sri Lanka looked weak in the early innings

In this series, the Indian team has taken a 1-0 lead by winning the first match. Now, in the second match as well, the India team seemed to dominate the visiting team.
