The Golden State Warriors finished the 2000-2001 season with a 17-65 record. During that rebuilding campaign, veteran forward Chucky Brown suited up for the franchise, securing his place in team history as the player to wear jersey No. 52.
Brown entered the professional ranks as the 43rd overall pick in the 1989 NBA Draft out of North Carolina State. He established a reputation as the ultimate professional journeyman, providing physical minutes across the league wherever required. Prior to his time in the Bay Area, Brown captured an NBA championship with the Houston Rockets during the 1994-1995 season, bringing verified title experience to a struggling Golden State roster.

His legacy extends beyond his single season in Oakland. For over a decade, Brown famously shared the NBA record for the most franchises played for throughout a career. He logged official minutes for 12 different teams, a grueling statistical mark he held alongside Jim Jackson, Tony Massenburg, and Joe Smith.
That 12-team historical statistic has since been broken. Point guard Ish Smith now holds the undisputed league record after taking the court for 13 different NBA franchises.
