David Warner responds to Quinton de Kock’s absence

Australia starter David Warner has said his team will kneel down after South African goalie and hitter Quinton de Kock refused to do so after seeking a reaction on his decision to withdraw from the game.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) had instructed its team that all players should kneel before the start of the second game against the West Indies. This would be done in support of the campaign against racism. Like Warner, de Kock is also a starter for South Africa and plays an important role for the team.

“Of course I wouldn’t comment that the South African administration instructed their team to kneel. It was their decision, it was the individual player’s decision to do so,” Warner said.

Warner also said he’s not too upset about his poor performance in the recent game and hopes to get back in shape soon. Australia will face Sri Lanka in their second match of the T20 World Cup in Dubai on Thursday.
