7:42 am: Historic day for Ukraine
Ukraine is suspended today from the verdict of the European Commission, which must deliver its opinion at 1 p.m. on the status of candidate for the EU of the country at war. The day before, the four French, German, Romanian and Italian leaders said they were ready to “immediately” grant Ukraine the status of candidate for membership of the European Union.
“The status of candidate for entry into the European Union for Ukraine can strengthen freedom in Europe and become one of the key European decisions of the first third of the 21st century,” pleaded President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday evening.
