Wamiqa Gabbi is currently generating buzz around her upcoming film ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’, where she stars alongside Rajkumar Rao. Recently, she opened up about her previous film ‘Baby John’, which didn’t quite hit the mark at the box office. Talking to The Times of India, Wamiqa shared her thoughts on the film’s failure.
Wamiqa believes she gave her best performance in ‘Baby John’, and everyone else involved did too. The film had its fans, but it also faced criticism, particularly regarding its similarity to the south film ‘Theri’. While some people claimed it was a frame-to-frame remake, Wamiqa disagrees.
Reality Check
The fact remains that ‘Baby John’ is a remake of ‘Theri’, directed by Atlee. Atlee produced the Hindi version but didn’t direct it. The comparison between the two films was inevitable, with ‘Theri’ being better received by audiences.
What’s Next for Wamiqa?
Wamiqa’s upcoming film ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ promises to be an interesting watch. In the film, she plays a small-town girl named Titli. During a recent press conference, Wamiqa shared her excitement about playing this role. She said, “I’m happy to be a part of ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’. Titli is a relatable character, and I think many girls will connect with her.”
The film’s storyline revolves around a time loop, where the hero’s wedding day never arrives. Instead, the haldi ceremony keeps repeating.
