The Ministry of Defense wants more soldiers to be vaccinated. At present, the obligation only applies to military personnel who are deployed. This should be extended to personnel who are preparing for a mission or who can be deployed in the short term, a spokesperson for the ministry told De Telegraaf.
Defense emphasizes that there will be no general vaccination obligation for soldiers. But according to the AFMP military union, it would almost come down to that in practice.
The ministry does not want to say how high the vaccination rate among soldiers is. According to the AFMP, a large number of soldiers have not been vaccinated.
